Successful end to the campaign!

We would like to thank all of you who helped, and to announce the end of the fund-raising campaign for Polly and Paola.

From now on we’ll be expecting the decision of the [Bulgarian] National Health Insurance Fund which we believe will be in our favor, and about which we will inform you promptly. The German Health Insurance Fund told us that since Polly is an insured Bulgarian patient, who was admitted to Charité in an emergency, they will cover the expenses for her stay here, and will ask the [Bulgarian] National Health Insurance Fund to reimburse them.

These procedures will take time but we ask for your patience – and we will be patient as well. From now on I will take care to inform you about every new development. Polly, for her part, will renew her visits to the [Bg-mamma] forums very soon.

They are both doing well. Paola’s progress has been excellent; Polly will need a bit more time to recover psychologically. This is one more reason to put an end to the campaign - everything that happened was a deeply personal experience for her but at the same time, for one reason or other, publications have appeared in media outlets – something she did not want from the very beginning.

WE THANK FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE CAMPAIGN FOR EVERY WORD, EVERY PENNY, EVERY MINUTE DEVOTED TO US, EVERY IDEA, EVERY MOMENT OF HOPE, FAITH AND CHARITY. MAY GOD PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES, BE WELL!

I would also like to thank personally and individually everyone who ran to our help, but this is hardly possible. All of you – mothers, teachers, companies and institutions, individuals, friends and strangers. Your help will be rewarded.

I hope this money will help another person in need – or maybe even several. We hope we can make this happen!

With respect and gratitude:
Delyan

Help Polly and her baby live!

Polly is pregnant in the sixth month. She has been diagnosed with placenta percreta, a rare condition in which the placenta grows through the uterine walls into the surrounding organs. In Polly’s case, the placenta has opened up the scar from her previous c-section, overgrown the lower part of the uterus, and penpolly_tnetrated the bladder, threatening also to impact the intestines. The condition not only causes excruciating pain but threatens the lives of both the mother and the 23-week-old fetus. Polly needs to undergo surgery in Germany but in order to be admitted to the hospital she will have to pay 60 000 euro up front with possible additional charges.

The surgery is planned for the end of September/beginning of October (when Polly’s unborn baby girl will reach 30 weeks and have a better chance to survive). However, due to a very high risk of hemorrhaging, Polly needs to be admitted to the hospital as soon as next week so that the doctors can monitor her condition closely.

For the time being donations to help Polly are being collected in her donations bank account:
Polly's donations bank account in United Bulgarian Bank
IBAN: BG55 UBBS 8002 1434045910 , Swift Code: UBBS BGSF
Polina Ivanova Vasileva

The money that is being donated to the account in the United Bulgarian Bank can be used only for the purpose of making payments to the Charite Hospital in Berlin. After the treatment, any remaining funds in the account will be donated to help others in need.
